Quizzes/Surveys - Grading Quizzes

Index for Quizzes/Surveys

What do you want to do?

Once a quiz has been completed, it must be graded. WebCT automatically grades all question types, except for paragraph questions. While automatic grading can accelerate the grading process, the final decision on all grading remains with the instructor or teaching assistant. The way that students are graded is defined by the grading scheme (refer to Quiz & Survey Settings). Grading allows you to review and modify the grade assigned to the student for any question in the quiz except for zero point questions.

About Submissions | Top

Submissions provide information for each student attempt.

  • Grade: the student's grade for the quiz as determined by the grading scheme (refer to Quiz & Survey Settings).
  • No.: the number of the attempt at the quiz. Note: "---" indicates that the student has not attempted the quiz yet.
  • Score: the student's score for the quiz
  • Time: the time the student spent on the quiz. Note: A time of "00:00^" appears if a grader submits a Not taken quiz on the student's behalf.
  • Status: the quiz is either Graded, Not graded, Partial, In progress, or Not taken. Note: A status of Partial indicates that the quiz contains paragraph questions that have not yet been graded. A status of In progress indicates that the student has opened the quiz but has not submitted it for grading. A status of Not taken indicates that the student has not opened the quiz.
