You can edit the Course Menu, but not the
Control Panel. To add links to the Course
Menu, see Add
Page or Tool.
Hiding
the Course Menu | Top
- From the Control Panel, click
Course Settings. The Course Settings
screen appears.
- Under Course Menu, select Hide
Course Menu frame.
- Click Update. The Course
Settings screen refreshes and the Course
Menu is now hidden on
all screens in your course.
Hiding the Course Menu in
a drop-down menu | Top
You can hide the Course Menu
in a scrollable drop-down list displayed under Control
Panel on each screen in your course.
- From the Control Panel, click
Course Settings. The Course Settings
screen appears.
- Under Course Menu, select Hide
Course Menu frame, but keep a drop-down menu for navigation.
- Click Update. The Course
Settings screen refreshes and the Course
Menu is now contained
in a drop-down menu.
Revealing the Course
Menu | Top
- From the Control Panel, click
Course Settings. The Course Settings
screen appears.
- Under Course Menu, select Show
Course Menu frame.
- Click Update.
The Course Settings screen refreshes and
the Course Menu is
now displayed on every screen.
Note: The Course Menu
can be hidden on individual pages by clicking the triangle icon next to
Course Menu. When this option is used, the
Course Menu collapses into a drop-down menu.
Clicking the triangle icon again reveals the Course
Menu.

You can hide a link from students
if you have prepared something in advance, and you don't want students
to access it yet.
- From the Control Panel, click
Course Settings. The Course Settings
screen appears.
- Under Edit Course Menu, click Edit
Course Menu. The Edit Course Menu
screen appears.
- Under Course menu links, select the link
that you want to hide.
- Under Options, click
Hide link. The Edit
Course Menu screen refreshes and the link you selected now displays
an "H" next to it. The Course Menu
in designer view continues to display the link; an "H" next
to the link indicates that it is hidden from students.
Revealing a Course Menu

When you want students to see
a previously hidden link, you can reveal it.
- From the Control Panel, click
Course Settings. The Course Settings
screen appears.
- Under Edit Course Menu, click Edit
Course Menu. The Edit Course Menu
screen appears.
- Under Course menu links, select the link
that you want to reveal.
- Under Options, click
Reveal link. The Edit
Course Menu screen refreshes and the link is no longer hidden.
Specifying selective
release for a Course Menu link | Top
This option allows you to specify to whom and when you want a link to
appear. Selective Release of links can be
specified from the Homepage, an Organizer
Page or the Course
Menu. For more information, see Homepage

Moving a Course Menu link

You can reorganize links on the Course Menu
after adding them. In this way, you can group similar tools together.
- From the Control Panel, click
Course Settings. The Course Settings
screen appears.
- Under Edit Course Menu, click Edit
Course Menu. The Edit Course Menu
screen appears.
- Under Course Menu links, select the link
that you want to move.
- Under Organize, select the direction
and distance you want to move the link.
- To move the link up, from the Move link up
by drop-down list, select the move distance.
- To move the link down, from the Move link
down by drop-down list, select the move distance.
- Click Go. The Edit
Course Menu screen refreshes and the link is moved.
Indenting a Course Menu link |

You may want to indent your links on the Course
Menu after adding them. In this way, you can group similar tools
as subheadings under a corresponding Organizer Page.
- From the Control Panel, click
Course Settings. The Course Settings
screen appears.
- Under Edit Course Menu, click Edit
Course Menu. The Edit Course Menu
screen appears.
- Under Course Menu links, select the link(s)
that you want to indent.
- Under Organize, from the Indent
Link drop-down box, select More
or Less.
- Click Go. The Edit
Course Menu screen refreshes and the link is indented as selected.
Moving a Course Menu link to
another page | Top
If you are permanently hiding the Course Menu,
but you want a link you have added to be available to students, you can
move it to another page.
- From the Control Panel, click
Course Settings. The Course Settings
screen appears.
- Under Edit Course Menu, click Edit
Course Menu. The Edit Course Menu
screen appears.
- Under Course Menu links, select the link
that you want to move.
- Under Organize, click Move
to organizer page. The Edit Course Menu
screen refreshes and the link is moved.
Copying a Course Menu link
to another page | Top
Use this feature to create a copy of a Course Menu
link on another page.
- From the Control Panel, click
Course Settings. The Course Settings
screen appears.
- Under Edit Course Menu, click Edit
Course Menu. The Edit Course Menu
screen appears.
- Under Course menu links, select the link
that you want to move.
- Under Organize, click
Copy to organizer page. The Edit Course
Menu screen refreshes and the link is copied.
Renaming a Course Menu link |

- From the Control Panel, click
Course Settings. The Course Settings
screen appears.
- Under Edit Course Menu, click Edit
Course Menu. The Edit Course Menu
screen appears.
- Under Course Menu links, select the link
that you want to rename.
- Under Options, in the Rename
link text box, enter a new name for the link.
- Click Go. The Edit
Course Menu screen refreshes and the link is renamed.
Deleting Course Menu links |

- From the Control Panel, click
Course Settings. The Course Settings
screen appears.
- Under Edit Course Menu, click Edit
Course Menu. The Edit Course Menu
screen appears.
- Under Course Menu links, select each
link that you want to delete.
- Under Options, click Delete
link. A warning message appears.
- Click OK. The Edit
Course Menu screen refreshes and each link you selected is deleted.
Note: This option only deletes the link from
the Course Menu. If you have placed links
to this tool on the Homepage or an Organizer
Page, and you want to remove all links to
this tool, see Homepage
