About Reset Course
The Reset Course feature enables you to delete
information from various sections of your course. This feature is particularly
useful when you have finished teaching a course and want to clear out
old student records and submitted assignments. The following items can
be reset:

Database |
Removes all students from
the course. It also removes all student data such as quiz and assignment
submissions, student homepages, and membership in a presentation group.
(Note: Quiz statistics are not removed.) |

Assistant Database |
Removes all TAs from the
course. |
| Student Groups / Presentations
|
Removes all students from
presentation groups (group names are kept) and removes any uploaded
files. |
| Page
Tracking Records |
Removes all records. |
| Discussions |
Removes all Discussion
messages created by students, TAs, and designers, but the topics are
kept. |
| Mail |
Removes all Mail
messages created by students, TAs, and designers, but the folders
are kept. |
| Calendar
|
Removes
both public and private entries. |
| Chat |
Removes all data in the
Chat logs. |
| Whiteboard |
Removes all saved images
and files. |
| Student
Homepages |
Removes all homepages
created by students and any uploaded files. |
| Assignment |
Removes all student submissions.
Assignments created by the designer are not removed. |
| Quiz |
Removes all student submissions
and quiz statistics. Quizzes/Surveys
created by the designer are not removed. Questions stored in the Question
Database are also not removed. |
Resetting Course Tools | Top
Warning:
Resetting a tool clears ALL of the information associated with that tool.
Unless you have a backup of your
course, you cannot retrieve this information.
- From the Control
Panel, click Manage Course. The
Manage Course screen
appears.
- Click Reset
Course. The Course
Reset screen appears.
- Select each tool that you want to
reset.
- To select all tools, click
Select all.
- To clear all selected tools and start
again, click Select None.
- Click Reset.
A warning message appears.
- Click OK.
The Course
Reset Results screen appears.
- Click Continue.
The Course
Reset screen appears and the
selected tools are reset.
